The Metropolitans, Council Members and MangingCommittee Members of the North East American Diocese arranged a conference call and expressed their condolence on the demise Mr.K. .M. Mathew Malayala Manorama Chief Editor. The Diocesan Secretary recollected his words at a reception to a team of German delegates at Devalokam. "My Church has a daily in our language Malayalam - at present I take care of that - my name is K M Mathew". No more words needed to show his love to his church or his loyalty to the church as Chief Editor of Malayala Manorama. This love only made God to take him on an Episcopal Synod Day, so that his funeral could be done with the assistance of the entire synod with the leadership of His Holiness the Catholicose. Birthday Greetings from Rev.Fr.John Thomas,Northeast American Diocese Secretary,,,, Dear all, Today is the 86th Birthday of Barnabas Thirumeni. Physically he is weak; But the spiritual man is growing in him (his own words). Thirumeni still works on books. He published one book on his last birthday. Now he is working on his autobiography. At this age, God allowed him to erect a new Diocesan center at the heart of New York State - Mutton Town - spending 2.5 million dollars. The opening day of the center is 4th September. All of us are getting a chance to visit him on that day. The program starts at 9 am with morning prayer and ends at 6pm with evening prayer. Northeast American Diocese ; New Diocesan Center's Open House. After many years,The dream of having a sufficient and spacious Diocesan Center & Metropolitans' Residence has become a reality. On Saturday, September 4, 2010 the Metropolitans invite all faithful people and well wishers of the Northeast American Diocese to 'come and see' the wonderful gift God has bestowed upon our Diocese. Obituary. Chacko Varghese Chembakaparambil Passed Away Aug 26th in New York.Chacko Chembakaparambil, son of the late Varghese John and Mariam Varghese of Chembakaparambil house was born on May 5th, 1926 in Elanji, Kerala. He was the youngest of four children, Mrs. Mariamma Abraham, the late Mr. Yohannan Varghese and the late Anthrayose Varghese. In 1945 he married Sosamma Abraham, daughter of the late Abraham and Annamma Kunnumel and immigrated to Thrissur, Kerala where they raised their nine children. As a dedicated business man, he travelled all throughout India trading spices. He was a member of St. George Orthodox Church, Kannara, Thrissur, India. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sosamma Chacko, his sister, Mrs. Mariamma Abraham, and his nine children, twenty grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Although the Indian Orthodox Church has flourished in North America over the past several decades, the St. Thomas parish in Hartford, CT is the first Indian Orthodox Church parish in the State of Connecticut. It was granted formal approval by the Northeast American Diocese on May 30th, 2010. The church's mission is to bring together, for worship and celebration, members of the Indian Orthodox Church and to conduct charitable activities in Hartford and neighboring towns in CT. The St. Thomas Indian Orthodox Church is thankful for the support of the Grace Lutheran Church's staff and members, particularly Rev. Eva Steege, without whom this parish and inaugural service would not have been possible.
